YOUTH INCLUSION PROGRAM

into Adulthood
(YIP-iA)

The Youth Inclusion Program into Adulthood (YIP-iA) expands support for youth aged 16–24 in Prince Edward County through intensive, personalized case management and access to essential services. By offering dedicated support, outreach, and barrier-free programming, YIP-iA helps youth navigate the transition to adulthood and build a stronger, more equitable future.

In this rural area, YIP-iA provides intensive, personalized case management to help young people access housing, legal aid, financial literacy, and essential life skills. Each participant works closely with a dedicated case manager in a private, supportive setting. Through outreach, transportation assistance, job support, and inclusive workshops, YIP-iA empowers youth to overcome socio-economic and geographic barriers. This vital program bridges service gaps, supporting a smoother, more equitable transition to adulthood for rural youth.

YIP-iA was created in 2024 in response to findings that 89% of youth aged 16–24 in Prince Edward County feel unprepared for adult services and lack access to support. Building on the success of theROC’s Youth Inclusion Program for ages 12–18, YIP-iA expands services to older youth, offering personalized, barrier-free support to help them develop the skills and confidence needed for a successful transition to adulthood.
