Subject-Specific Support

Short-term, individual tutoring
is available for youth struggling to achieve one or more credits. Youth begin by meeting with our Academic Support Coordinator to evaluate their status in each course and create a work-plan for achieving their success. A schedule is set to ensure consistency and accountability. Youth learning is tracked weekly and parents/guardians are in regular contact with theROC staff.

Alternative Learning

theROC provides educational services to youth enrolled in a variety of alternative learning supports. When referrals are received from Supervised Alternative Learning and Safe Schools divisions, theROC's staff coordinates between youth, their families and their educational partners to develop a learning plan that meets youth where they are at, ensuring wraparound service and ongoing communication.

Skills-Based Training

theROC offers skills-based workshops designed to complement traditional education and foster personal growth. These hands-on sessions help youth develop practical, transferable skills—such as time management, communication, and goal-setting—that boost their confidence and prepare them for their chosen post-secondary path. By connecting learning to real-life experiences, theROC empowers young people to stay engaged and move forward with purpose.

Educational partners include:

  • Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board
  • Prince Edward Collegiate Institute
