Since 2000, ROC has been working with all youth in Prince Edward County, promoting health and well-being. We offer enriched physical activities, recreation programs, creative arts and mentorship. ROC has a barrier-free policy and offers regular programs in school, after school and evenings that are free to participants. ROC is a registered charity that builds RELATIONSHIPS, provides OPPORTUNITIES and creates CONNECTIONS through programs that support personal, social and academic development. ROC participants build skills, self esteem and confidence, along with healthy lifestyle choices, nutrition and academic perseverance, empowering young people to discover, develop and achieve their potential. ROC also offers special workshops to develop communication and employment skills and to deal openly with important issues facing youth today (such as cyber safety, bullying, drugs and alcohol, teen pregnancy and dropping out of school).
The charity partners for resources and referrals with the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board, Children’s Mental Health Services, Highland Shores Children’s Aid, Hastings Prince Edward Counties Health Unit, County Kids Read, and the Community Services Officer of the OPP, to name a few.
Nutritious snacks and meals are provided at all programs and there are no fees to attend.
